How to Make a Digital Business Card on iPhone

By Ellie Grant, founder of GoPassy · Updated September 11, 2026

The simplest way to make a digital business card on iPhone is to turn a link to your LinkedIn or website into a QR code pass in Apple Wallet. With GoPassy, you enter your name, headline, and link, and the app makes the QR code and adds it to Wallet. Anyone can scan it with their phone camera, with no app needed.

Three ways to share your details from an iPhone

NameDrop and AirDrop

Hold two iPhones close together to swap contact cards with NameDrop, or send your contact card with AirDrop. It’s built in and free, but it only works between Apple devices, and you both have to be standing together.

LinkedIn’s own QR code

LinkedIn can show a QR code for your profile. Any phone camera can scan it, but you have to open LinkedIn and find it every time, and it only ever points to LinkedIn.

A QR code pass in Apple Wallet

A Wallet pass puts your QR code next to your tickets and boarding passes. It opens in a second, can be shown without a signal, points to any link you choose, and anyone with a phone camera can scan it. This is what GoPassy makes.

Make one with GoPassy in three steps

  1. Create your pass. Download GoPassy, open the Create Pass tab, and enter your name, a headline, and your link. Tap Generate QR Code, then Save Pass.
  2. Add it to Apple Wallet. Tap Add to Apple Wallet below the preview, then tap Add.
  3. Share it. Open Wallet, show your pass, and let people scan it with their phone camera.

What to put on your digital business card

  • Name: the name people will search for.
  • Headline: your role or goal in a few words, like “Realtor · Philadelphia” or “Finance ’27 · Seeking internships.”
  • Link: the one page you most want people to open. For most people that’s LinkedIn; it could also be a portfolio, website, or booking page.

Going further with Pro

GoPassy Pro, at $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, adds unlimited passes, your own colors and logo or photo, a notification every time your pass is scanned, scan analytics, and NFC tap-to-share, which writes your link to an NFC sticker or card that people tap with their phone. See everything in Pro.

Questions people ask

Yes. GoPassy is free for up to 3 passes, each with your name, a headline, a link, and a QR code in Apple Wallet.

Do people need an app to scan my digital business card?

No. Any phone camera, iPhone or Android, can scan it and open your link.

What’s the difference between a digital business card and a vCard?
